Lohan To Star In ‘Count My Lies’ Series In Works At Hulu From ‘This Is Us’ EPs Isaac Aptaker & Elizabeth Berger

16 April 2025

In her first TV series starring role, Lindsay Lohan is set to headline and executive produce Count My Lies, a drama in development at Hulu. The project, based on the recently published novel by Sophie Stava, comes from former This Is Us executive producers/co-showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger as well as 20th Television where the duo and their The Walk-Up Company are under an overall deal.

In Count My Lies, written by Aptaker and Berger, when compulsive liar Sloane Caraway fibs her way into a nanny position for the gorgeous and charismatic Violet and Jay Lockhart, it seems she’s finally landed her dream job. But little does Sloane know, she’s just entered a household brimming with secrets that are about to explode — with potentially catastrophic consequences for all.

I hear Lohan is expected to play Violet. She executive produces alongside Aptaker, Berger and Scott Morgan of The Walk-Up Company. Stava is a producer. 20th Television, part of Disney TV Studios, is the studio.

This would mark Aptaker and Berger’s third series for the Disney streamer following Love, Victor and How I Met Your Father, both through 20th TV where they have been for 13 years.

Lohan has an even longer history at Disney. Her first five movies — theatrical and TV ones — were all at the company: The Parent Trap (1998), ABC’s Life-Size (2000), Disney Channel’s Get a Clue (2002), Freaky Friday (2003) and Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (February 2004). Her biggest American TV series role to date was also at Disney, a four-episode arc on ABC’s Ugly Betty, which was produced by ABC Studios, now part of 20th Television.

She recently returned to the Walt Disney Studios for the upcoming Freakier Friday sequel, in theaters on August 8. Lohan, who starred in the Netflix 2025 holiday movie Our Little Secret, is repped by IAG, attorney Dave Feldman and Vision PR.

Count My Lies is Stava’s debut novel. Published by Scout Press, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, on March 4, it was the GMA Book Club pick for March. She is repped by CAA and Elisabeth Weed at The Book Group. Aptaker and Berger served as executive producers and co-showrunners alongside creator Dan Fogelman on 20th Television’s hit NBC drama series This is Us. They also developed and executive produced the HIMYM spinoff series, How I Met Your Father, and were creators and executive producers of Love, Victor. Aptaker and Berger are repped by CAA, Entertainment 360, and Hansen Jacobson Teller.

Lohan Is Still ‘Blown Away’ By Son Luai As He Enters His Second Year

10 September 2024

Lindsay Lohan continues to discover more about motherhood with each passing day.

PEOPLE caught up with the actress, 38, at the Kering Founding Caring for Women dinner in New York City on Monday, Sept. 9, where she opened up about her son Luai Shammas, whom she shares with husband Bader Shammas.

Lohan has not disclosed Luai’s exact birthday, but her publicist confirmed to PEOPLE that he was born in 2023. The actress threw a lavish car-themed 1st birthday party for him on July 17, 2024.

As Luai enters his second year, PEOPLE asked Lohan what life milestones she was looking forward to.

“I think every day is a milestone,” the new mom excitedly replied. “Every day I’m blown away and I’m excited.”

As previously reported, Luai was born and is being raised in Dubai. Luai is an Arabic name meaning “shield or protector.”

“I guess you would say it happened organically,” Lohan told Allure of how she ended up in the United Arab Emirates. “Dubai gives me that space to have my own vision of what I need to do next.”

Lohan’s list of upcoming projects includes reprising her role as Anna Coleman in the sequel to her 2003 film Freaky Friday, appropriately titled Freakier Friday. She and costar Jamie Lee Curtis have been documenting filming the sequel, which is set for a 2025 release, on social media.

At August’s D23 event, Lohan told PEOPLE she’d want to switch places with her son if she could. “Just to see — because he is, so pure and just so happy, just to see life through his eyes, every day. He’s just this beautiful bundle of joy. I can’t think of anything else,” she explained.

Lohan can also be seen in a holiday movie for Netflix titled Our Little Secret. The film is set to debut on the streamer on November 27, 2024.

STEPH CURRY GIFTS 60 POINT JERSEY TO LINDSAY LOHAN’S SON!!!

04 February 2024

Steph Curry did something Saturday night he’s only done one time in his life — scored 60 points during a game, and Lindsay Lohan was the beneficiary of his achievement.

Steph’s Warriors lost to the Hawks in OT — 134-141, but Steph made a little history — he’s only the 10th player in NBA history to score 60 points at least twice.

As for Lindsay, she and her hubby were right there courtside in ATL watching the game. Afterward, Steph signed his jersey and gave it to Lindsay … the inscription reads, “Your Godparents love you! To Luai. Warriors” LiLo’s one-year-old kid’s name is Luai.

In case you didn’t know, Steph and Ayesha are indeed the godparents to Luai. As for the connection, Lindsay and Ayesha starred together in “Irish Wish,” which will be released March 15 on Netflix.

Sorry about the loss Steph, congrats and the 60 points, and way to score Luai.

Prior to the signing of her two-picture deal, Lohan was in business with Netflix on Falling for Christmas, a holiday rom-com also starring Chord Overstreet. Most recently, the actress was seen making a cameo in Paramount’s adaptation of the Mean Girls musical, before that starring in the British dark comedy series Sick Note, horror thriller Among the Shadows, and more.

Lindsay Lohan ‘Hurt’ By ‘Fire Crotch’ Joke in ‘MEAN GIRLS’ … No Explanation From Fey

16 January 2024

Lindsay Lohan was on the receiving end of a personal dig in the new “Mean Girls” movie that references one of the most infamous insults hurled her way … and yeah, she’s pissed.

Of course, we’re referring to Paris Hilton’s oil heir buddy, Brandon Davis, once calling her a “fire crotch” gal — a line that actually made its way into the rebooted flick … which LL apparently had no idea about — at least that’s the indication from her team’s response.

Lindsay’s rep told The Messenger … “Lindsay was very hurt and disappointed by the reference in the film.” The outlet also reports that Lindsay was surprised last week when she watched the movie for the first time at the premiere.

It’s pretty shocking that the line even made it into the film — y’know, considering Tina Fey wrote it … not to mention the fact that Lindsay herself cameos in the flick as well.

On its face, it seems she had no idea it was coming … meaning she either didn’t receive the full script, or didn’t peruse it. Ya gotta imagine that if she saw this ahead of time … she would’ve talked to Tina about it, because LiLo has famously spoken out about the dig.

The context of how it’s used in the new movie features none other than Megan Thee Stallion — who shows up as one of many people singing the praises of the new popular girl, Cady (once played by Lindsay), as they flee Regina George. MTS says “fire crotch is back.”

You’ll recall, the way it was originally used dates back to a TMZ video from back in 2006 … when Davis was being a bit of a “mean girl” himself in talking trash about LiLo at the time. Like we said, Lindsay’s been fairly vocal about how hurtful that was back then.

That’s why Tina’s decision to include it in the movie — even in jet — is shocking … and now even more so with LL speaking out like this. Tina gushed about working with Lindsay, so you know she loves her … perhaps this was just an innocent mistake or an oversight.

Lindsay Lohan Was ‘Pregnant as Hell’ at Time of Mean Girls Cameo, Says Reneé Rapp: ‘She’s the Coolest’

15 January 2024

Lindsay Lohan was very pregnant during her cameo in the new Mean Girls movie, according to Reneé Rapp.

Rapp, 24, appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Sunday and was asked what it was like having Lohan – who welcomed a baby boy with her husband Bader Shammas in July – appear in the new musical adaptation.

“Yeah, I was so excited. I mean she’s the coolest obviously and it was also like such a blueprint,” Rapp, who plays Regina George in the Mean Girls musical, said. “She was also pregnant as hell at the time and so I remember like, I love babies, I’m ageist.”

The star went on to add, “So I was so excited that she was there because she’s Lindsay Lohan and she’s so cool and hot but also like, she was pregnant.”

Rapp’s role was originally taken on by Rachel McAdams in the 2004 film, which saw Lohan star as Cady Heron. For the 2024 version, Angourie Rice has stepped into Lohan’s shoes.

In an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE, Rice shared a similar positive sentiment about working with Lohan, saying that having her on the set “meant so much to me.”

“It is such a rare experience to really get in the head of a character and then meet someone who’s done the same thing,” said Rice, 23. “Just to have that shared experience, it means a lot.”

The star further highlighted, “But to know that Cady has been a part of so many actors’ lives and so many actors have delved into that character — she’s bigger than the actor in a way.”

“It means a lot that I get to share that with so many special performers, especially Lindsay,” Rice reflected.

The film’s directors, Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr., agreed to Variety that having Lohan on set was quite an experience.

“I don’t remember the exact moment, but I remember the feeling when I learned Lindsay was going to be a part of it. Everyone was so happy — there was a special energy that day,” Jayne noted to the publication.

Perez remembered the secrecy surrounding Lohan’s appearance, saying, “It was very NDA-heavy and only on a need-to-know basis. I think it had sprinkled to some of the cast. I actually do remember a couple people snuck in that day, now that I’m thinking of it.”

Mean Girls is currently in theaters.
